Longmont’s Anemoment expands European distribution

LONGMONT — Anemoment LLC, a specialized meteorological instrument design firm, is expanding its international distribution.

The Longmont company has named Sparv Embedded AB, a Swedish engineering firm, one of its authorized international distributors.

The agreement expands Anemoment’s European footprint and opens new opportunities for Sparv Embedded to enhance its position in the embedded market.

Anemoment makes small, light anemometers, which are wind sensors. Its product, the TriSonica Mini Wind and Weather Sensor, is a highly accurate tool used for atmospheric monitoring, weather reporting, turbulence calculations and ecosystem research. It’s well-suited for portable, temporary deployments.

“Our authorized distributors have had a great deal of influence on the direction and development of our TriSonica Mini family of wind and weather sensors,” Elizabeth Osborn, CEO of Anemoment LLC, said in a prepared statement. “We strive to attract and maintain active relationships with progressive, like-minded individuals and companies that pride themselves in outstanding customer service and a solution-centric approach to doing business.”

Sparv is an engineering firm that specializes in in-situ sensing in the lower atmosphere by developing miniature embedded sensor electronics.

“The TriSonica Mini is the lightest 3D wind sensor available,” Anders Petersson, president of Sparv Embedded AB, said in a statement. “This positions the TriSonica Mini to address the blind spot of wind sensing capabilities of small UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles]. We are excited to incorporate the TriSonica Mini into our Sparvio sensing platform.”
