Five Leeds students to receive Hall of Fame scholarships
BOULDER — Five students at the University of Colorado Boulder will receive scholarships from the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame at this year’s Hall of Fame induction luncheon on April 25.
Each student will receive $2,000 to attend the university’s Leeds School of Business.
This year’s scholarship winners, who all are graduates of high schools in Boulder County, and their qualifications are:
Zoe Myers — After graduating from Boulder High School, Myers chose to stay in Boulder. She is part of the Leeds Scholars Program for honors students through which she has traveled abroad to work with businesses in Argentina, as well as organize an outreach project to help the local homeless in Boulder. Outside of school, Myers works for the CU women’s volleyball team as a student manager, and is president of her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in the event planning industry, while still being able to enjoy her favorite hobbies, which include hiking, paddle boarding, and crafting.

Katya Lien — Lien has been a dancer, artist and outdoors woman for as long as she can remember. With passions for people, the mountains and new experiences, she chose to pursue a degree in business. Her hometown has inspired her to enter the business world with a focus on ethical and sustainable enterprise, while she continues to follow her passions in art and dance in her free time. She is a graduate of Boulder High School.
Sandeep Kaushik — Kaushik is studying business as well as computer science. This past year he participated in HackCU 2018 and his team placed first. He loves photography and spends his free time designing logos for clients internationally. Kaushik is a graduate of Niwot High School in the St. Vrain Valley School District.
William Sun – Sun is studying integrated business and computer science with a concentration in finance. In addition, he is working toward getting the quantitative finance certificate. At CU, Sun is part of the Leeds Scholars Program as well as Leeds Investment and Trading Group. He led his team to place first out of more than 50 college teams across the nation in a six-month investing competition. He is interested in business because he believes that through business, we can utilize unique ideas to impact the world, whether through innovations or connections. Sun is a graduate of Boulder Fairview High School.
Rachel Long — Long is an honors student at Leeds studying finance and economics. She interns for Leeds Undergraduate Programs, sits on the business school’s Leeds Student Council, and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi. She was a main organizer for the March for Our Lives in Denver and now sits as treasurer on the board of Never Again Colorado. Long is a graduate of Niwot High School.

In addition to awarding the scholarships, the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame will induct six individuals and one family into the Hall of Fame at the same luncheon.
This year’s inductees are:
- David Bolduc, founder and owner, Boulder Book Store.
- Gina Day and Diane Greenlee, co-owners, Boulder Beer Co.
- Heidi Ganahl, founder, Camp Bowwow.
- Dave Query, founder and chef, Big Red F.
- Clair Volk, founder, Volk and Associates.
- The Winter Family, founders and owners, Golden Transfer Co.
The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., April 25, at the Plaza Convention Center, 1850 Industrial Circle in Longmont.
