Boulder expands Marijuana Advisory Panel

BOULDER — The City of Boulder is seeking three volunteers to represent the community at large and serve on the Marijuana Advisory Panel.

Individuals interested must be residents of Boulder and have no ties to the cannabis industry. Applicants must submit a letter of interest detailing why they are interested in serving on the advisory panel. Letters can be sent until Sept. 8 to the city manager’s office at licensingonline@bouldercolorado.gov.

The MAP was formed in January 2016 to review and recommend changes to the city’s marijuana regulations. The 12-member panel held 11 public meetings in 2016 and went on to adopt a code in December 2016.

As Mental Health Awareness Month unfolds in Colorado, it serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritize mental well-being.

In January of this year the MAP was directed to hold additional meetings to review the December code and see what is and isn’t working, to review legislative changes and see how they impact Boulder regulations and to consider any other proposed changes.

The city is looking to add three additional members to the current members on the panel.

MAP meetings will be held Sept. 14 and Sept. 26.
