Whiting Petroleum sells North Dakota assets for $500M
DENVER — Whiting Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: WLL), a Denver-based energy company, is selling its North Dakota assets, in a transaction valued at $500 million.
The Denver Business Journal reports that Whiting is selling its Fort Berthold Indian Reservation area assets in Dunn and McLean counties in North Dakota to RimRock Oil & Gas Williston LLC. The deal will enable Whiting to repay $500 million of its current $550 million bank debt.
Whiting last November sold other North Dakota assets for $375 million.
