Springs resident plans renovation of St. Scholastica campus in Canon City

CANON CITY – A Colorado Springs resident wants to redevelop an iconic building in Canon City into apartments for people ages 55 and older, luxury apartments and affordable town homes.

The Canon City Daily Record reports that Michael Butler, the complex’s potential buyer, said he plans to redevelop the 116,988-square-foot St. Scholastica campus in a three-phase plan.

The campus has been a school for young women, a behavior modification facility for teen boys and girls and, most recently, a vacant piece of property owned by a Utah-based investment group.
