Forum in Greeley to focus on new rules for commercial drivers
GREELEY — Occupational-health experts will help commercial drivers and transportation companies understand the new regulations they face at a free forum next week.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has revised its medical-examination certification process. The new forms mandated to be in use by April 20 include a few changes that will affect transportation companies and commercial drivers who undergo Department of Transportation certification exams. The revisions call for collection of additional driver information and two new qualification statuses for interstate certifications.
Drs. John Charbonneau and James Rafferty, both physicians at University of Colorado Health’s occupational-health facility in Greeley, will provide an overview of the new regulations and answer questions at a public forum to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the lower-level conference room at UCHealth’s Greeley Medical Clinic, 1900 16th St.
