United Launch Alliance slashing 375 jobs

Centennial-based rocket-maker United Launch Alliance is laying off 375 people, more than 10 percent of its total workforce, as it tries to compete for government and commercial space contracts with companies like SpaceX.

The Denver Post reports that ULA, which is a joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin, employs 3,400 people, including roughly 1,500 in Colorado. The job cuts come about 10 months after ULA trimmed 30 percent of its executive team.
