Planning commission approves 499-home development in west Longmont

Local homebuilder Markel Homes got approval from the Longmont Planning and Zoning Commission this week to build a 499-unit residential development at the southeast corner of Nelson Road and 75th Street.

The Times-Call reports that the development, just south of the Seagate campus and west of Silver Creek High School, will include 223 single-family homes in addition to 42 duplexes and 234 multi-family units.

The development is one that’s been in planning for a couple of years, with some infrastructure work initially beginning in 2014.
