Greeley city council overturns planning commission decision on oil, gas project
A planning commission decision in January to deny approval of a 22-well oil and gas drilling operation in west Greeley was overturned on Tuesday night by city council.
The Greeley Tribune reports that council voted 5-2 in favor of Extraction Oil and Gas’s appeal of the planning commission decision. The now-approved project is slated to go on a 14-acre site northwest of 18th Street and 71st Avenue, and had been opposed by the residents of nearby neighborhoods.
