2 Longmont-based jewelry makers join forces

LONGMONT — One Longmont-based manufacturer and distributor of fashion jewelry has absorbed another in what a media release calls a “synergistic acquisition.”

Left Hand Studios LLC, a subsidiary of La Jolla, Calif.-based Succession Capital Inc. and doing business as Sienna Sky Jewelry, announced that it had acquired Lemon Tree Jewelry, which makes and wholesales more than 300 earring and necklace designs.

According to the media release announcing the acquisition, “Lemon Tree is a synergistic acquisition for Sienna Sky as the two companies share similar sales channels, suppliers, and design esthetic.”

Lemon Tree will be integrated into the operations of Sienna Sky while staying as a unique product line, with ongoing design support from Lisa Boyd, a Colorado native who started making jewelry to pay her way through Colorado State University and then founded Lemon Tree in 2003.

“Lemon Tree offers extremely unique, creative designs along with a dedicated group of sales representatives and a large base of recurring customers,” said Jeanna Novy, president of Sienna Sky, in the media release. “We are very excited to add this line to our company as we are confident that it will be a great complement to our existing assortment. We are particularly eager to work with Lemon Tree’s founder as she continues to focus on product design and the evolution of the line.”

Founded in 1994, Left Hand Studios distributes earrings and necklaces under the Sienna Sky and Adajio Collection product lines. Sienna Sky was acquired by Succession Capital is 2014.

Succession Capital now represents more than 35 percent of the portfolio of its parent company, Toronto-based Lynx Equity Ltd. Succession Capital and Lynx Equity focus on acquisitions of small and medium-sized businesses throughout North America from owners looking to retire.
