U.S. News ranks 3 local hospitals among Colorado’s 10 best
Three area hospitals have been ranked among the best in Colorado by U.S. News & World Report in its annual rankings.
University of Colorado Health’s Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins was ranked in a three-way tie for fourth place in the magazine’s overall statewide rankings, while Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette and UCHealth’s Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland were in a three-way tie for seventh.
University of Colorado Hospital, the academic medical center of UCHealth located on the old Fitzsimons Army Hospital site in Aurora, ranked No. 1 on the list.

The annual rankings are based on a U.S. News analysis of nearly 5,000 hospitals largely using objective measures such as patient survival and safety, the adequacy of nurse staffing levels and other data. This was the 26th year that U.S. News ranked hospitals.
