640,000 acres of oil, gas leases go up for sale in eastern Colorado

Texas-based Pioneer Natural Resources has listed 640,000-acres-worth of Colorado oil and gas leases for sale.

The Denver Business Journal reports that the leases are in nine counties in the eastern part of the state, including Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Elbert, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Prowers and Washington.

Pioneer last month said it would be closing its Denver office and laying off several other Colorado workers.
