Daniels Fund awards grants to universities for ethics programs

DENVER — A philanthropic organization will award universities $11.25 million for ethics programs at business and law schools over the next five years.

The funding comes from the Denver-based Daniels Fund, founded by Greeley native and cable TV entrepreneur Bill Daniels. The following universities in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley will receive funding:

Colorado State University, College of Business, $1.25 million;

The funding comes from the Daniels Fund Ethics initiative, launched in 2010. The program offers funding to nine universities in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

Each college’s grant funds development of new curricula to teach students to apply ethical principles. Students, faculty members and community leaders also participate in the annual Daniels Fund Ethics Consortium Case Competition and Daniels Fund Ethics Consortium Summit.
