Outdoor gear firm buys industrial building

BOULDER – Thunderbox Inc. has acquired nearly 45,000 square feet of industrial space in east Boulder for $3.3 million.

Boulder-based Thunderbox, a subsidiary of Sea to Summit Inc., an importer and distributor of backpacking gear and accessories, purchased the 44,800-square-foot building at 1900 North 57th Court in Flatiron Park from Myles Enterprises Inc.

The building was unoccupied and last leased by CenturyLink, which used it for a maintenance facility.

Thunderbox and Sea to Summit currently occupy 20,000 square feet at 3550 Frontier Ave. in Boulder, and plan to move from there to accommodate its growing business, said Brandon Ray of Cassidy Turley, who helped broker the deal.

Shelley Dunbar, co-owner of Sea to Summit’s operations in North America, could not be reached Friday for comment.
