Douglas Rademacher honored as ‘Prairie Partner of the Year’

GREELEY – Weld County Commissioner Chairman Douglas Rademacher received the “Prairie Partner of the Year for 2013” award from the National Grasslands Council during today’s board meeting.

Rademacher was nominated by Lori Bell, former acting district ranger for the Pawnee National Grassland, due to his dedication to improving communication and understanding of grassland issues.

Rademacher’s commitment to monthly meetings with the Pawnee National Grassland District Ranger resulted in improved collaboration and partnerships as well as a greater understanding of laws and regulations. Rademacher also provided a conduit to other county employees for the U.S. Forest Service to work with, including the Department of Public Works and the Sheriff’s Office, said Reghan Cloudman, Public Affairs Specialist for Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, in a statement.
