CSU professors inducted into FCCA Hall of Fame

Two long-time Colorado State University faculty members will be inducted into the Farm Credit Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame in recognition of their lifetime achievements on Feb. 27 at 4:15 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in Denver.

Colorado State University professors Dr. Cleon Kimberling and Dr. Norman Dalsted will be among four individuals acknowledged at the banquet.

Kimberling earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from CSU in 1951, and a degree in veterinary medicine in 1959. For 40 years, from 1965 to 2005, Kimberling was a faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and during this time also worked as a CSU extension veterinarian.

Norm Dalsted is a professor and extension specialist at CSU. The primary areas of research in which he has been involved include costs of production related to crops, vegetables, fruit and livestock throughout Colorado. He has been a professor for more than 30 years.

Other recipients include Don Svedman of Fort Collins and a graduate of CSU class of 1960 with a B.S. in Animal Sciences, and Les Hardesty of Estes Park, a long-time contributor to the dairy industry.

2014 will mark the 25th anniversary of the hall of fame induction ceremony. The honorees will join 77 other Colorado agriculturists who have been similarly honored since 1989.

“We are proud to add four more outstanding individuals to the Farm Credit Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame,” Dale McCall, chairman of the Colorado Future Farmers of America Foundation said in a statement. “Their accomplishments exemplify education, innovation, and service to others.”
