“I’ve kept myself up, physically. I like looking good and looking young,” Tanenbaum said. “Part of it is, as a physician, if someone looks really old, patients think he’s going to die or retire.”

Tanenbaum is one of a growing number of male patients going for skin-care treatments and cosmetic-surgery procedures these days. He compares the acceptance of men having skin-care treatments done these days to the movement of men to hairstylists from barbers a few decades ago.
