Foreclosure sales, filings down in 3Q

Foreclosure sales were once more down in both Larimer and Weld counties in the third quarter, according to the most recent data from the Colorado Division of Housing.

In Larimer County, foreclosure sales decreased year-over-year by 12.9 percent, from 171 in the third quarter of 2011 to 149 in the same period of 2012. Weld County foreclosure sales decreased by 25.5 percent during the same period, from 318 to 237.

Foreclosure filings show that the number of foreclosure sales should continue to decreased year-over-year. In Larimer County, the number of filings decreased by 34.8 percent to 236 in the third quarter and in Weld, filings decreased by 17 percent to 376.

Statewide, the number of foreclosure sales slid 10.6 percent from 4,627 in the third quarter of 2011 to 4,138. Filings decreased by 11.8 percent to 7,076 in the third quarter.
