Arsenault’s company stays on green path

LOUISVILLE – Boulder-based Namaste Solar will install solar panels on the roof of Real Capital Solutions’ headquarters in Louisville.

Portions of the $600,000 project will be filmed. When completed, Real Capital Solutions hopes to have the facility open for community tours, especially by school groups.

Real Capital Solutions founder Marcel Arsenault has been heavily involved in the “green” movement. He was an early board member and vice chairman of Eco-Cycle Boulder, a nonprofit recycling organization. He helped Eco-Cycle formulate business plans and obtain funding and grants from the city of Boulder. When the paper markets crashed, Marcel assisted in enacting a survival plan that kept Eco-Cycle solvent during difficult economic times in the recycling industry.

Real Capital Solutions was one of the first businesses in the area to use hybrid cars for the company fleet. Nearly all of the company’s executives, who are eligible for a company car, drive a Toyota Prius.

In 2004, Arsenault purchased Fossil Gulch Wind Park near Hagerman, Idaho, that state’s first utility-scale wind-power facility.

Arsenault and his wife, Cynda, have founded three foundations during the past decade: The Arsenault Family Foundation, a grant-making foundation; and the Secure World Foundation, which is dedicated to the secure and sustainable use of space for the benefit of Earth and all its peoples; and the One Earth Foundation that hopes to develop and operate multi-level, multi-stakeholder global governance projects.
