As Mental Health Awareness Month unfolds in Colorado, it serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritize mental well-being.

“We have worked with Hino on this electric bus project for some time, and it is extremely rewarding to have the buses put into public service,´ said Eric R. Ridenour, UQM Technologies’ president and chief executive. “We are seeing growth in the electrification of the commercial-vehicle market, such as this program with Hino, as well as our volume-production passenger-car systems.”

The Hino electric buses are powered by the UQM PowerPhase Select 200 systems, comprised of a power-dense electric motor and advanced controller.

Hino’s brand of trucks and buses are marketed in more than 70 countries and regions including the United States, and worldwide sales exceed 120,000 vehicles a year. Hino is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corp.

UQM’s headquarters, engineering, product development center and manufacturing operations are located east of Longmont.
