NCLA puts NISP on priority list for legislative session

LOVELAND – The Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance held its Legislative Preview event Thursday, bringing together business professionals and legislators from across Northern Colorado to discuss the upcoming 2012 legislative session.

During the event, the NCLA outlined its priorities for the 2012 session, including:

  • Development of water storage capacity in Northern Colorado. More specifically, the NCLA will continue to support the development of the Northern Integrated Supply Project.
  • Development of a strategy to create a stable funding model for higher education.
  • Monitoring of the implementation of the health care exchange legislation adopted in 2011 and support of actions that serve the interest of business.

Speakers at the event addressed some of the larger issues that will be part of this year’s session, including the proposed privatization of Pinnacol Assurance, the state’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance.
