CoreLogic: Distressed sales bring home prices down in July

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Home prices in the Fort
Collins-Loveland area increased year-over-year, while Greeley home prices
decreased over the same period, according to the CoreLogic July Home Price
Index. Excluding distressed sales, home prices in both areas increased
year-over-year.

In Fort Collins-Loveland, home prices including
distressed sales increased by 2.9 percent in July 2011 compared to July 2010,
and by 2.6 percent from June 2010 to June 2011. Excluding distressed sales,
which include short sales and real estate-owned transactions, prices increased
year-over-year by 2.6 percent from July 2010.

In Greeley, home prices including distressed sales
declined by 2.9 percent from July 2010 to July 2011, and by 6 percent from June
2010 to June 2011. Excluding distressed sales, Greeley’s prices increased from
July 2010 to July 2011 by 1.1 percent.

Home Price Index, using public records.

Statewide, home prices including distressed sales
decreased by 2.2 percent from July 2010 to July 2011. Excluding distressed
sales, prices increased by 0.5 percent over the same period.
