Remarkable Women: Lifetime Achievement

Carol Lathrop From the time she became a volunteer firefighter at the Cherryvale Fire Department in 1975 to the time she spends on the board of directors of the Boulder Community Hospital Auxiliary today, Carol Lathrop always has mixed operating businesses with community service.

Divorced and a mother of two, Carol moved to Boulder in the mid-1970s and worked to support her family as a sales representative and administrative assistant at Xedar Corp. She met Rob Lathrop in 1985, combining families with a total of four children.

Together, they started the Rental Center of Louisville in 1986, which they sold in 1998. In 2010, she and Rob started Louisville Boat RV Storage, which they own and operate today.

Over the years she has served on boards of nonprofits, hospitals and schools.

Carol was named the Louisville Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year in 1993 and was inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame in 1998.
