As with past years, nominations are being sought from a wide variety of companies, from startups and other small businesses to large corporations. Categories can shift according to what nominations received, but generally categories include Business Products/Services, Consumer Products/Services, Internet/Web, Medical, Software, Sports and Outdoors, Natural Products, Telecommunications, Nonprofits.

Products or services must have been developed by Boulder Valley companies, or local companies must have been instrumental in development of the product or service.

Innovations should be those that can lead to a “sustainable,” successful business.

Products or services should have reached the marketplace, or at least be in a testing or beta stage.

Products or services cannot have been on the market prior to Jan. 1, 2010, unless a significant innovation to the product or service has occurred since then.

Companies that won previous IQ Awards can win for an entirely new product or service.

Nominations will be accepted both from startup companies and those already successfully doing business.
