Letting Go of What Isn’t Working

The first step to making change is accepting that we have a problem. Perhaps there is a sense of discontent or dis-ease in your gut. Take notice. Acknowledge the icky feelings and use the situation to move forward in your life.

Begin by asking yourself, “What isn’t working?”

Whether you are in a bad job or a bad marriage, you must understand what you don’t want before you can figure out what you do want. Until we understand what isn’t working, it is nearly impossible to create a better situation for ourselves.

Think of the man or woman who ends up marrying the same person over and over. Or, consider the terminally unhappy employee who always ends up working for the boss from hell. There are reasons why we attract the same problems over and over.

We won’t be able to create a better reality unless we accept full responsibility for problems in our lives. We must own it, bless it, and release it so that we can make room for something better.

The icky feeling in your gut has nothing to do with the way the boss or your spouse treats you. It has everything to do with how you feel about yourself.
