Droplet Measurement acquires EN-SCI

BOULDER – Cloud-particle measurement company Droplet Measurement Technologies has acquired EN-SCI Corp.’s assets and intellectual property.

Financial terms of the deal between the two Boulder-based companies were not disclosed.

A key product made at EN-SCI’s former location in South Boulder has been moved to Droplet Measurement Technologies 12,000-square-foot headquarters in east Boulder, the company said in a press statement.

DMT’s hundreds of customers include government agencies like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA. The company is privately held.

“We believe the company is a good fit with DMT, which is held in similarly high regard in the scientific community,´ said Greg Kok, DMT’s president. “The acquisition will certainly diversify DMT’s line of atmospheric measurement instruments.”

Following the purchase, DMT sees significant growth opportunities in Asia, Pat Keady, company marketing director, said in an e-mail.

EN-SCI’s key product is the Electrochemical Concentration Cell (ECC) ozonesonde, which measures atmospheric ozone to an altitude of more than 20 miles, the company said. It has been used by researchers around the world.
