Redstone offering wind-tech degree

BROOMFIELD – Redstone College in Broomfield announced today it will start offering a degree in wind-energy technology.

Redstone’s 15-month associate’s degree program in Wind Energy Technology, will teach students how to maintain propeller-driven wind turbines.

A record number of U.S. wind farms are driving the demand for wind-turbine technicians, and new jobs are expected in the state as a result of Colorado’s renewable energy-use benchmark.

Redstone College is affiliated with Westwood College, a 17-campus system based in Denver.

Founded in 1965, Redstone College offers a variety of technical degree programs including airframe and power plant, advanced electronics technology, heating/ventilation/air conditioning/refrigeration, and construction management.

Since the school was founded, more than 15,000 students have graduated from the programs.
