Ritter signs ag land blight bill

DENVER – Agricultural land in Colorado will no longer be allowed to be
designated as “blighted” for inclusion in urban renewal development
under a bill signed by Gov. Bill Ritter on April 14. House Bill 1107 was
sponsored by Rep. Randy Fischer, D-Fort Collins.

“This bill protects Colorado’s farms and Colorado taxpayers by ensuring
that taxpayer funding intended to be used to redevelop urban blight is
not instead used to subsidize the development of prime farmlands,”
