CU professor starts TechoShark

BOULDER – A University of Colorado at Boulder computer science professor and a handful of his graduate students have started TechoShark Inc., a company focused on location-based mobile applications.

TechoShark launched hoozat, an iPhone application that helps people, based on location, connect via Facebook. hoozat is available at Apple’s App Store for $1.99.

The company, formed by CU professor Rick Han and four other people in February, is a Boulder-based virtual company.

Currently, the application, which is only offered on the iPhone, is only designed for Facebook, but Han said the company plans to expand the location-based app to LinkedIn, MySpace and possibly…
