Technology package saves homeowners both money, energy

LOVELAND – Greenspire, an 800-lot subdivision wrapping around Windsor Lake east and north of Windsor’s downtown, appears to be yet another in Northern Colorado’s growing portfolio of new-home communities. A handful of homes – both completed and under construction – dot the landscape.
Yet one home by Aspen Homes LLC is different. Solar panels on the south-facing roof are the only telltale sign that it’s a net-zero home, meaning it produces as much energy as it uses – which translates into no energy bills for the homeowner.
