Community Foundation makes awards, honors board members
FORT COLLINS — The Larimer Center for Mental Health received the Agency of Distinction Award at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado Annual Luncheon Wednesday.
The Agency of Distinction Award is given to honor excellence in nonprofit management. The center, which provided mental health services to more than 4,000 individuals last year, recently established an endowment fund through the Community Foundation. Through a challenge grant, the Community Foundation will match $1 for every $2 raised by the center.
Also at the luncheon, the Community Foundation honored its founding board members with the Founders Award. The award was accepted by present founding members Ray Chamberlain, Tom Gleason, Charles Patchen, Eric Peterson, Buford Plemmons and Donald Webber.
The Community Foundation, which manages charitable donations, reported that assets had grown to $39 million at the end of 2007, up from $16 million four years ago. Additionally, the foundation added 32 new funds in 2007, bringing its total funds managed to 260.
