First National consolidates charters

FORT COLLINS – Boulder-based First National Bank of Colorado, Fort Collins-based First National Bank and Greeley-based Union Colony Bank will become one institution by mid-February.

The three banks are owned by Omaha, Neb.-based First National of Nebraska Inc., a bank holding company. The banks’ three charters will be consolidated into one, said Mark Driscoll, president of First National Bank in Fort Collins. The new bank will have 26 locations and assets of $2.5 billion. Each of the banks had been acquired by First National of Nebraska at different times during the 1990s, he said.

First National Bank of Colorado has nine branches in Boulder, Longmont and Denver and will keep its name. Union Colony, which serves Greeley, Windsor and other Weld County communities, will change its name to First National Bank. All three will use the green “Circle One” logo.

Driscoll said there will not be any personnel changes at the banks, although there could be some management restructuring, and some titles may change.

“The main reason we are consolidating to be able to better serve our customers,” Driscoll said.
