Porter wins executive chef honor

BROOMFIELD – Alexander Porter, executive chef of Flatz, a restaurant in the Renaissance Boulder Suites at Flatiron in Broomfield, was named Executive Chef of the Year for the 174 Renaissance brand hotels and resorts worldwide.

Flatz is an upscale Rocky Mountain grill with an emphasis on fresh seafood and steaks.

Executive chefs are in charge of the kitchen and manage the staff and business operations. Typically, they are involved in the creation of the menu. Porter’s award is an Award of Culinary Excellence – a culinary award for Renaissance and Marriott hotels.
