Tebo’s love for daughter, city prompted gift

BOULDER – Stephen Tebo didn’t need a reason to donate $2 million toward Boulder’s newest cancer center, he just wanted to.

But life works in unusual ways sometimes.

In 2005, Tebo was asked if he would be the main donor for what is now the Tebo Family Medical Pavilion – Boulder’s new cancer center. He and his wife, Shari, had lost friends to the disease, and his daughter Bonnie Felix’s breast cancer was in remission at the time. It appeared Tebo was at the tail end of his dealings with cancer, and he wrote the check to get the ball rolling on…
