Boulder-based Knudson Gloss Architects hired David Court, associate; Charlotte Clift, graphic designer; Catherine Scott, architect; Noelle Stallcup, graphics assistant; Brian Heitzman, draftsman; and Josie Varga, architect. It promoted Karen Gintert, the company?s business manager and archival-history specialist, to associate.
BANKING, FINANCE
Monica M. Baldwin, a vice president and financial adviser in the Raymond James Financial Services Inc. office at Centennial Bank of the West in Longmont, was named to the firm?s executive council in recognition of outstanding client service and professional growth. Baldwin joined the firm in 2003.
U.S. Bank, a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp, promoted Angela Davidsonto regional operations manager. Davidson, a 13-year veteran of the company, is responsible for overseeing retail operations in the Denver and Salt Lake City region. U.S. Bank in Denver also hired Greg Francis and Travis Pocock as branch managers to its retail team.
EDUCATION
Front Range Community College added three new members to the board of directors of the Front Range Community College Foundation: Teri DePuy, senior vice president of organizational development at Longmont-based Intrado; Rick Griggs, founder and owner of Fort Collins-based Griggs Achievement; and Alan Hubbard, senior director, compensation and benefits, at Broomfield-based Ball Corp.
Barry S. Baer was hired to work with the Culinary School of the Rockies to provide strategic and operational financial advice and perform technical financial management tasks. Baer is a retired army finance colonel and certified public accountant and has provided managerial and operations finance advice to several Boulder area organizations.
University of Colorado at Boulder physics professor William Ford was awarded the American Physical Society?s 2006 W.K.H. Panofsky Prize in experimental particle physics. The award recognizes Ford?s research to better understand the inner workings of matter, especially the nature of radioactive decay.
The Dalbey Wealth Institute, a Westminster provider of cash flow note educational courses, mentoring, online resources and access to capital for home-based entrepreneurs, appointed Tim McAndrew to the newly created position of vice president of marketing and media. McAndrew was formerly director of consumer marketing with Boulder-based Webroot Software Inc.
Daniel Sher, dean of the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Music, was named president of the National Association of Schools of Music. Sher was previously the association?s vice president and assumed leadership on Jan. 1 when the outgoing president resigned. Sher will serve as president through November, when he can be elected for a full term.
ENGINEERING
Lafayette-based Loris and Associates Inc. hired Mace Pemberton, P.E. as an associate principal in charge of the firm?s civil department. Pemberton has more than 25 years experience in commercial site and subdivision development, infrastructure, transportation, roadways, major interchanges, trails and sustainable LID technologies.

Women?s Health, a nonprofit family planning and gynecology clinic, appointed Dr. Gayle F. Bereskin, Lydia Sofia Delgado, Traci Kirk, Rosamelia L. Loredo, Jim Luallen and Mary Wright to its board of directors.
HIGH TECH
Spectra Logic, a designer and manufacturer of data protection products, appointed Marcy Montgomery as its new chief operating officer. Montgomery has more than 20 years of experience in high-tech business management.
Dynamic Materials Corp., a provider of explosion-welded clad metal plates based in Boulder, named Harold Wiegard president and general manager of its AMK Welding division. Wiegard has more than 20 years of experience in specialized metals manufacturing and was previously vice president of operations for The Miller Co.
New Frontier Media Inc., a Broomfield-based distributor of adult entertainment via electronic platforms, hired Ira Bahr as vice president of marketing and corporate strategy. Previously, Bahr was with EchoStar Communications Corp.
Sirenza Microdevices Inc. appointed Christopher Crespi to its board of directors. Crespi is replacing Peter Chung, who resigned from the board effective April 1. Crespi is the co-founder and president of Pacific Realm LLC, an investment fund.

Ray Gottfried was appointed as director of operations for the Broomfield Event Center. Gottfried previously served as the senior manager of operations and facilities management for the University of Denver?s Daniel L. Ritchie Center.

Tyco International Ltd., a provider of products and services in a variety of business segments with operations in Colorado, promoted Shelley Stewart Jr. to senior vice president of operational excellence and chief procurement officer. Stewart will lead Tyco?s Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, working capital, real estate and strategic sourcing initiatives across the company.

Jan McHugh-Smith, chief executive officer of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, was elected president of the Colorado Federation of Animal Welfare Agencies for 2006. It is a federation of local, county, state and national animal care, animal control and animal welfare organizations with nearly 60 member agencies statewide.

Tim Head was hired as the manager for the Boulder Municipal Airport. During the past nine years, Head served as an airport manager in the U.S. Air Force for four different airports, including the Air Force?s second busiest airport at Sheppard Air Force Base/Wichita Falls Municipal Airport, Texas.
RETAIL
Ultimate Acquisition Partners, parent company for Ultimate Electronics, a Colorado-based consumer electronics company, named Marc Hoffman vice president, general manager of its builder division, effective Jan. 30. Hoffman will oversee the overall operations of the division including continuing to build partnerships with the nation?s home builders.

Karen Bernardi of The Bernardi Group at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate hired Rowena Cobian, formerly at Village Life Realty, as a member of her team. Cobian has been in the real estate business for over five years.
