Crocs nothing less than fashion phenomenon

NIWOT ? The Croc phenomenon began when Boulderites Scott Seamans, George B. Boedecker Jr. and Lyndon ?Duke? Hanson decided to market an unusual shoe, a cross between a sandal and a clog made of a rubberlike material.

Seamans had found the shoe, made at the time by Foam Creations Inc., modified it by adding a heel strap, and introduced the new design as Crocs? first model, the Beach, at a boat show in Florida in November 2002. Boedecker and Hanson helped fund and start Crocs Inc., called Western Brands at the time.
