Local jobless rates down from 2003
The region’s September unemployment rate was down slightly from August, according to preliminary numbers from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
The department tracks unemployment for Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland. Loveland’s rate for September was 4.2 percent, Fort Collins’ was 4.8 percent and Greeley’s was 5.7 percent. Each of these rates was down one-tenth of one percentage point from August’s revised rates.
Compared to a year ago, September unemployment rates were down nearly a full percentage point in Loveland and Fort Collins. In Greeley, the rate is down six-tenths of a point.
