Bank of Choice announces first Fort Collins branch

FORT COLLINS – A Weld County-based bank has made its entry into the Fort Collins market official.

Bank of Choice, known as Weld County Bank until June 30, purchased a pad site for its new branch location on the northeast corner of the intersection of Shields Street and Drake Road.

The lot, located in the Market Centre retail complex, was acquired for $675,000.

Darrell McAllister, president and CEO of the bank, said the organization looked at several locations around town but decided on the Market Centre spot because of its ease to develop and its central location.

But this will not be the bank’s only location in Fort Collins. Because of the city’s size, McAllister has committed to at least one more location.

“One location does not serve all of the needs of the customers in the city,” he said.

Pending final approval, the branch will consist of a 12,000 square-foot, two-story building with four drive-up lanes. The bank will initially employ seven to eight people at the location, eventually expanding to about 30, he said

Bank of Choice hired Greeley-based Fisbeck/Sheel as general contractor on the project.
