MAMTC to help small manufacturers on Y2K issues

With less than seven months before the big millennial odometer turns over, small manufacturers and businesses have another acronym to help them make it through Y2K — MAMTC, the Mid-America Manufacturers Technical Center.

MAMTC’s charter directs them “to help small U.S. manufacturers to become more competitive, and provide hands-on technical assistance working with firms and manufacturers with their day-to-day problems,” says Edvard Hag, MAMTC regional director. It’s a joint effort by state and federal government along with the private sector, mostly funded by government, says Hag.
