Towns along U.S. 85 welcome growth

South of Greeley along U.S. Highway 85 sit five communities, some poised for the growth that is happening now and in years to come in Northern Colorado, others comfortable in the knowledge that whatever growth occurs will most likely be in the residential sector.

We’re talking about Evans, LaSalle, Gilcrest, Platteville and Fort Lupton.

With a population of 7,700, Evans is enjoying the most development of these cities. Some has come as a result of sharing boundaries with Greeley.

Christopher Wood is editor and publisher of BizWest, a regional business journal covering Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties.
