Larimer County posts lowest local jobless rate in April

DENVER — Colorado’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was flat at 3.9% from March to April, according to the most-recent data from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

The national jobless rate of 4.3% was also unchanged last month. 

In the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado, unadjusted unemployment rates ticked down across the region. Larimer County led the way in April with a rate of 3.2%, while Broomfield County recorded a rate of 3.3%, Boulder County 3.4% and Weld County 3.8%.

“Over the year, the average workweek for all Colorado employees on private nonfarm payrolls decreased from 33.1 to 32.9 hours, while average hourly earnings grew from $39.09 to $39.86, $2.45 more than the national average hourly earnings of $37.41,” according to CLDE’s monthly employment report.
