Renewables outpaced coal in electricity generation in 2022
Electricity generated from renewable sources outpaced coal-generated electricity in 2022 for the first time.
The Casper Star Tribune, citing an Associated Press story, said only 20% of electricity came from coal sources last year. Coal use for electricity peaked in 2007 at 50%.
