Southwest eyes 16 more gates at DIA

DENVER — Southwest Airlines is planning to meet with city officials Wednesday to request lease rights for 16 new gates at Denver International Airport, which would bring the budget carrier’s gate total at DIA to 40.

The request is going before a City Council committee and if it is approved it will be considered by the full body in the coming weeks, according to a Denver Post report.
