McWhinney acquires hotel near DIA for $22.6M

Loveland-based developer McWhinney has purchased a hotel near Denver International Airport for $22.6 million.

The Denver Business Journal reports that McWhinney acquired the 123-room Hyatt House Denver Airport Hotel at 18741 E. 71st Ave., off Tower Road. The hotel will be managed by Sage Hospitality, based in Denver.

McWhinney helped complete the redevelopment of Denver Union Station and is working on numerous projects in the Denver area, including redevelopment of the Dairy Block near Coors Field in downtown Denver.
