Loveland, Larimer County near deal for new county building
LOVELAND – City of Loveland and Larimer County staff members have tentatively agreed to partner on building a new county building in downtown Loveland between First and Second streets, part of the city’s downtown revitalization project, the South Catalyst project.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports that the project, which covers an area from First to Third streets, between Cleveland and Lincoln avenues, has been in the works for more than a year and a half. Although the city concluded its land purchases in the area on June 30, the city ended its partnership with developer The Michaels Development Co. at the beginning of August, putting the project on hold.
A request for proposals for the South Catalyst project is expected to be ready Oct. 7, one day after the deadline for negotiations to be completed between the city and Larimer County.
