Boulder, Fort Collins companies awarded export grants
Companies from Boulder and Fort Collins were among a group of five awarded export grants from the state of Colorado’s Minority Business Office on Monday.
The new grants are targeted at small and medium-sized businesses that are minority or women-owned to help offset the costs of international business development. Awards of up to $15,000 are made to companies that are new to exporting or are expanding into new export markets.
Fort Collins-based Global Village Power, which provides energy-saving household products and appliances to people in developing countries, was awarded a $6,000 grant by the MBO.

The MBO handed out $50,000 in all. Janska in Colorado Springs also received $15,000, while Empirical Testing Corp., in Colorado Springs received $9,000 and CandyGrind in Eastlake received $5,000.
Registration for a new round of export grant applications opens Sept. 1.
