Longmont, Boulder County homebuilders merge

BOULDER — The Longmont Builders Association merged with the Boulder County Chapter of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver, creating a single entity devoted to the Boulder area housing industry.

“We didn’t have the strong education programs that the HBA has, so this merger will bring us the resources and programs that weren’t available before.” says Pat Fisher, former president of the Longmont Builders Association.

In return, the LBA brings to the table a sense of familiarity with development issues in Longmont that comes with their long-standing presence in the community. The Longmont Builders Association formed in 1960 for the purpose of working with the Chamber of Commerce and Longmont City Council to attract new businesses to town.

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

This enhanced focus on the Longmont market comes at a good time, Fisher says, as more home building activity is shifting north from the city of Boulder.

“Boulder County tends to create a number of stable, good paying jobs, and with communities like Boulder, Lafayette and Louisville tightening down on housing activity, I see Longmont as the place where people are going to live,” Fisher says.
