15th Annual Boulder County Business Hall of Fame
G. Lane “Earnie” Earnest
Colorado native G. Lane Earnest co-founded Caplan and Earnest, Boulder County’s oldest and largest locally owned law firm. For more than four decades of his professional life, “Earnie” has provided leadership, energy and good humor to numerous educational, civic, community, philanthropic and Christian organizations throughout the state.
He has left an indelible mark on the state’s business communities, particularly in Boulder County.
Since retiring, Earnie has served as a Protestant chaplain to passengers and crew members in the cruise ship industry. With his wife, Barbara, he assists Katrina victims in salvaging their flood-damaged homes.

Thomas Eldridge
Tom Eldridge has owned and operated Tom’s Tavern at the Pearl Street Mall since 1959. He has been a member of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce for more than 20 years and has 13 employees.
He has also served as a Boulder city councilman and a member of the Downtown Business Association. Eldridge has supported programs and institutions such as Imagine!, Boulder Community Hospital, Boulder Sister City program and Attention Homes.
Bayne Gibson
Being blessed by a loving family, inspiring mentors, supporting employees, caring friends and a strong personal faith has permitted Bayne Gibson to be a community activist, while pursuing a career of corporate leadership, management training and professional speaking.
Sports, outstanding role models and challenging opportunities in the military, college and early jobs led to Gibson’s successful career. He is a integral part of the Longmont business community and has played a hand in many business mergers and estate acquisitions.
Gibson also has served on the boards of youth organizations like the YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs and the Our Childcare Center.
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much care,” Gibson said.
Richard “Dick” Klein
Entrepreneur, community activist and philanthropist, Richard “Dick” Klein’s lifetime of leadership has been marked by innovation, creativity and a commitment to his community.
Founder of Longmont’s K-Theatres Corp., Klein never shirked from a challenge and always embraced new technologies, including television, cable and video rental, that others suggested signaled the end to his beloved theater industry.
A lifelong Rotarian and former city planning commissioner, Klein’s sense of duty extended beyond his personal business to the welfare of every community he was part of.
John “Ed” Mock
Ed and Bernice Mock founded Mock Realty Co. in 1965. Later their three sons – Ken, Gail and Bruce – became involved in the company.
Ken started the management department before leaving Boulder. Gail started as an agent in 1973 and now owns the realty company, and Bruce is the owner of Mock Management Co.
Ed has served on many community, church and bank boards, acting as president of several. He represented the Boulder Valley School District in procuring school sites and acted as agent of the Boulder Community Hospital in its real estate needs.
The Mocks believe in giving back to the community through service.
Daniel Pirrallo
A consummate hotelier, Dan Pirrallo brought the depth of his experience in nine major U.S. cities to the Boulder County community, to which he has passionately devoted his time and energy to forge partnerships between local charities, cultural arts organizations and the business community.
Pirrallo believes that business and community opportunities should be exploited with “passion, tenacity and patience.”
Pirrallo advocated for increased access to the abundant business, cultural and recreational opportunities available in Boulder County by serving on numerous boards and committees locally and within Colorado.
