CSU College of Business climbs ladder in U.S. News ranking
FORT COLLINS — U.S. News and World Report magazine ranked the Colorado State University College of Business 87th among the national business college programs in its latest report card American universities.
The No. 87 rank reflects a gain of 10 positions since the last ranking in 2002, when CSU was No. 97 among business colleges.
Other universities closely ranked with Colorado State include Clemson University, Lehigh University, Marquette University, Ohio University, Oklahoma State University, Rutgers and Temple University.
The U.S. News and World Report Best Undergraduate Business Programs rankings include both public and private national business programs. U.S. News surveyed deans and senior faculty at undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The CSU College of Business was re-accredited in 2002 by the AACSB. The accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Out of 1,400 four-year business programs nationwide, only 480 are accredited by the AACSB. Colorado State ranks in the top 20 percent of the 480 accredited four-year business programs in the world (65 of the accredited intuitions are foreign-based).
With about 2200 undergraduate students, the college has grown 49 percent in the past seven years. With the popularity of the program at Colorado State, the College of Business has one of the highest admission standards at the university and among other business programs in the state.
The CSU College of Business includes the departments of Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance and Real Estate, Management and Marketing as well as housing the Centers for Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics and Social Policy, Education and Research in E-Business, Investment and Real Estate Finance, Institute of Transportation Management and Corporate Financial Reporting.
