FCHA receives grant to help homeless veterans

FORT COLLINS – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs will provide the Fort Collins Housing Authority with $98,768 to supply permanent housing for homeless veterans.

The money is a part of $1.7 million provided to public housing agencies in Colorado to provide assistance to more than 270 homeless veterans statewide.

The permanent supportive housing assistance is provided through HUD’s Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program and is part of the Obama Administration’s goal to end veteran and long-term, chronic homelessness by 2015.
